Hi Timothy, Thank you for this episode. Could you please elaborate on why you don’t find the James course method of memorizing scripture suitable any more? Thanks
Hi Vic! The issue is re-using the same rooms over and over. This method works for a short book like James, but when you go beyond 5 chapters it becomes much less effective. I recommend using a unique location for each passage you memorize rather than re-using anything.
I’m interested in learning a little more about this new method.
In the James course, we learned to use objects for the topics of each chapter. Now that you suggest we don’t use these objects, only the rooms and sublocations within them, what’s a good way to connect the topics to the memory palace?
In the new version, we’ll be using rooms for the chapters and objects for the verses. You create a story around how the object relates to its position in the room.
