Kristal asks about choosing locations when creating memory palaces. If you’re going to teach other people using mnemonics, how do you come up with places that will apply to everyone? I give my suggestions.

Music credit: Maurice Ravel’s String Quartet, 2nd movement, performed by the US Army Band.
Do you have an example of a memory Palace you made in photo shop?
Sure! This is very simple, but I tried to make it so each room was distinctly memorable. This is what we used to memorize the book of James: http://masterofmemory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/Whole-memory-palace.png
We also made zoom-in pictures of each of the rooms.
When you say you use photoshop, are there templates for houses. Is there a database with a whole bunch of pics? I really would like to make this, but I can’t see how. Thanks
The way I did it myself was I just searched for cross-sections of houses in Google images and kind of imitated what I found. It still requires some practice with PhotoShop first. I could help you come up with templates though; the house you see in this post can be simplified and modified.
Thank you for the answer Timothy. You’re right ! There are some common places that we all know that I hadn’t thought about before. I’m going to try to explore with photoshop. I haven’t the faintest idea how to do that 🙂
